Manufacturing Controls Engineer

Job Description

A Manufacturing Controls Engineer will project manage, design, and program both new and existing test and assembly machines and fixtures, considering new and better ways to make production more efficient and automated, while incorporating the latest technologies and safety standards. They will work closely with engineering and production to find the best ways to test and assemble a wide variety of electrical / electronic products that Riverside manufactures.

Education & Qualifications

  • 2+ year degree in electrical / electronics.
  • 5+ years experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years experience designing electrical automation controls schematics and programming PLCs or other controls systems.
  • Experience with OSHA machine safety and NEC requirements.
  • Must be a U.S. person – US Citizen, US Permanent Resident or Refugee/Asylum Seeker
  • Relocation not offered for this position.

Responsibilites & Duties

  • Project manage, from start to finish, automated assembly machine and test fixture designs and builds.
  • Design electrical control panels and schematics for product assembly automation and testing.
  • Program PLCs, vision systems, computers, and other devices on a wide variety of machines and test fixtures.
  • Participate in engineering product design reviews for products requiring automation.
  • Troubleshoot problems with existing test and assembly equipment and implement or recommend changes.
